Frome Town Council is holding a public meeting to help local residents understand the detail of the proposed development at Saxonvale.
Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting which will be held at The Assembly Rooms on 13th June from 6.30pm -8.30pm. It will talk people through the planning process and guide them on how to submit any comments to Mendip District Council. Any feedback will also help to inform the town council’s formal response, which will be brought to the next Town Matters meeting on 19th June.
Mayor of Frome, cllr Mark Dorrington who will be chairing the meeting said, “If you are not sure what the planning application for Saxonvale entails, come to the meeting and hear from the developers and other stakeholders. This will be your opportunity to ask questions and give your views on the application.”
The developers, Acorn Property Group, will be at the meeting and will outline the vision for the development. This will cover issues around the amount and type of proposed housing and commercial land and how those figures were reached. They will also discuss the impact on traffic/transport, parking and access including routes for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as providing information around sustainability, open spaces and ecology.
Various stakeholders will set out their objectives for the site and explain why they are important to the town. This panel will then take questions from the audience. To find out more go to www. frometowncouncil.gov.uk/ saxonvale-development/
