A PUBLIC meeting will be held to discuss the feasibility study into the re-modelling of Frome town centre on Tuesday 2nd of October in the Cheese and Grain at 5.30pm for 6.00pm start.
Frome Town Council has embarked on a study into the feasibility of re-modelling Frome town centre. Consultants Landscape Projects Limited are undertaking the study on the council’s behalf. The main objective of this project is to create a town centre environment that is easier for pedestrians to move around, whilst maintaining vehicular access and flow.
The project is examining ways to improve the appeal of the town centre to local residents, visitors and shoppers, which respects its special historic character.
A wide range of interest groups in the town have already been engaged and work has now reached a point where some design options have been developed by the consultants. At the public consultation event at the Cheese & Grain, members of the public will be able to hear from the consultants and view the designs.
Peter Macfadyen, chair of the external affairs committee at Frome Town Council said, “This will be an opportunity for the local community to have an input into this important project for Frome.
“We encourage as many people as possible that use the town centre to attend and provide their views on the options that are emerging from the study.”
