Quest to become “top dog”

A YEAR after a near-death experience in a road accident, a Frome dog is hoping to become ‘top dog’ with a sponsored walk up Snowdon. Dingo, a 14-month-old border terrier, and his owner Steve Lewis, will walk up the mountain to raise funds for Bath Cats and Dogs Home. Steve said, “June 2011 was a traumatic time for Dingo, my 14-month-old border terrier, when he sustained serious injuries in a road accident on the A36 near Bath. For a while his short life hung in the balance and his long term future looked uncertain. “However, four major operations later, several pins, plates and screws, weeks of nursing care and months of physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, Dingo can once again look forward to a full, active and pain-free life. “On the16th June this year I intend to celebrate a year of an amazing recovery by walking up Snowdon with Dingo – something last year I thought would never be possible, and to raise money for Bath Cats and Dogs Home in their 75th year of rescuing and rehoming animals.“Reaching the summit of Snowdon will be a special journey and one which has only been made possible due to the skills and commitment from the vets, nurses and physiotherapist at Bath Vet Group who demonstrated exceptional competence, never gave up and never stopped caring.”You can sponsor Dingo via www.justgiving.com/ steve-lewis4 or find out more about Bath Cats and Dogs Home at www.bathcatsanddogshome.org.uk
