Black Swan Arts has announced the return of the Summer Art Car Boot Sale, now in its twelfth year. The event promises an eclectic line-up of over 50 artists and makers who will gather at the Old Cattle Market car park to sell paintings, prints, ceramics, jewellery and much more from the boots of their cars!
Black Swan Arts say, “It is a fantastic opportunity for visitors to meet artists and craftspeople, discuss their work and snap up something local and lovingly made. The event is free to attend.
“The annual Art Car Boot takes place on the same day as the Frome Half Marathon and the final day of the Frome Festival– Sunday 16th July from 10am – 4pm. The vibrant community festival covers a huge range of activities across the visual arts, music and literature, attracting visitors from across the south-west. It provides the perfect backdrop for the Art Car Boot which brings together art lovers and artists in a quirky and informal environment.
Morag Stuart, volunteer coordinator says, ‘It is such a great chance to pick up original and affordable pieces of art direct from the artists themselves and to be able to chat with them face to face. And it’s a great fun day out.’
“Black Swan Arts will be open all day for an opportunity to visit our artists’ studios, Seed Shop and enjoy the refreshments on offer from Divas Cafe.
“Sunday 16th July is also the final day of Ricky Romain’s fantastic, thought-provoking exhibition about human rights ‘In the Absence of Truth’.
“While in the Round Tower, The Old Bakery Artists will be exhibiting work and Divas is hosting the Wessex Photography Club.
“The Art Car Boot Sale is an important platform for the promotion and support of local artists and raises valuable funds for Black Swan Arts.”
