Frome’s armed forces community is being invited to attend ongoing sessions offering support for families, veterans, and serving members.
A weekly advisory and support session is held with Sam, one of Somerset’s four armed forces link workers, in the Live Well Room at Frome Medical Practice. Sessions run on the first Monday of the month from 10am to 12pm, and on the last Monday of the month from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
In addition, a social session takes place at the Key Centre on the first Monday of each month. The next session will be on Monday 3rd November from 1pm to 3pm, with the following session on 1st December at the same time.
Organisers say, “Join us for a brew, bacon butty and good company with like-minded people. Our armed forces social is a relaxed space to meet, chat and connect with others who understand.”
Chairman of the Frome branch of the Royal British Legion, Richard Aspray, said, “Holding these Armed Forces Outreach events here in Frome is important for all of our veterans. These events are providing information and support to individuals and their families. They also enable veterans to meet and connect with others who have previously served, in an informal and relaxed environment.”
