Weston-super-Mare 1 Frome Town 2
TWO late goals against current champs Weston-super-Mare have put Town in the semi-final of the Somerset Cup.
The goals from James Ollis and Rex Mannings earned Town a 2-1 win.
The first half saw both sides have chances to go in front, but it wasn’t until the 37th minute when a breakaway goal from Moulden was converted to put Town one down at half time.
The second half saw a continuation of chances at both ends. Then on 81 minutes James Ollis intercepted a back pass to round the keeper to equalise.
As the game headed towards the final few minutes Weston had a great chance to win the match but moments later, Kane Simpson was alert to read another back pass where he squared the ball across to Rex Mannings to put home the winner.
The remaining three other quarter final matches will take place on the 15th February and the Robins will know their semi-final opponents following the completion of those matches.
