British rock pioneer Marty Wilde is holding an ‘Evening With’ at the Merlin Theatre this month, sharing insight into his eight-decade career as a recording artist and songwriter.
He first hit the UK charts in 1958 with his third single Endless Sleep and went on to enjoy further hits including Donna, Sea of Love, Bad Boy, Johnny Rocco, Tomorrow’s Clown, Rubber Ball, Jezebel and A Teenager in Love, to name just a few.
Marty Wilde has also written hits for Status Quo, Lulu, The Casuals, Hot Chocolate, Snow Patrol and Kim Wilde.
During the show, on Saturday 11th October, he will talk about his career and lifelong friendships with colleagues Billy Fury, Joe Brown, Johnny Cash, Eddie Cochran and others, as well as the hit TV show Oh Boy!, producer Jack Good, and much more. There will also be some music, and the audience will be invited to join in a Q&A.
