Members of Frome Town Rotary recently abseiled down a 165ft tower on the Stourhead Estate to raise funds for local causes.
Four members of the club took on the challenge of abseiling down Alfred’s Tower on Sunday 5th October, raising £1,000 to support causes in Frome.
President of Frome Town Rotary Gary Griffiths, who took part in the challenge, said, “I have been terrified of heights all my life but wanted to do something for a good cause, so I signed up. The hardest part was leaning back off the top of the tower into empty space. Would I do it again? Only for charity, not for fun.”
