The Rotary in Frome shop is set to close on 29th March and is expected to reopen later in the year.
The shop, located in the Westway Shopping Centre, is closing to allow the landlord to carry out necessary renovations.
The last day of trading will be Saturday 29th March. Donations have stopped being accepted, and stock levels are being reduced.
Frome Town Rotary co-presidents Lorraine Griffiths and Penny Lines said, “The support for the shop has been fantastic, allowing the clubs to support many Frome-based and international charities.”
The shop is closing following a successful fundraising campaign by the three Rotary groups and Inner Wheel, which saw all donations from February and March go towards funding the new systematic anti-cancer treatment centre at Frome Medical Practice.
Plans for the shop’s reopening will be announced when details are known. Frome Selwood Rotary president Patrick Otoide said, “We hope the shop can reopen later in the year so its fantastic impact can continue to support the Frome community.”
The shop, which sold an eclectic mix of items including furniture and household goods, was previously located at the former M&Co premises in the precinct. The shop closed in May 2023 before reopening in its current location.
