The Rotary Club of Frome, with the help of the local community, have been busy raising valuable funds for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading charity for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
In hosting a bucket collection in the town on Saturday 27th February, the Rotary club, along with the help of the local community, raised an astonishing total of £741.34.
Dennis Barnard, Rotarian at the Rotary Club of Frome said, “We never cease to be amazed by the generosity of the people of Frome.”
Hannah Worrall, fundraising manager for Somerset at CLIC Sargent said, “This is such a tremendous amount to raise from a bucket collection. It is a tribute to the wonderful work of the Rotary and the generous community of Frome.”
In addition to these wonderful funds, the Rotary club also hosted a Christmas Concert at the Standerwick Centre, raising £1,058 for young cancer patients back in December.
Hannah continued, “We are thrilled that the Rotary club continue to support CLIC Sargent. Last year, we supported over 600 children and young people with cancer, and their families, from the South West. We also gave out over 400 grants, to a value of over £75,000, to help families deal with the financial impact of cancer.
“CLIC Sargent wouldn’t exist without the generosity of communities such as Frome, thank you very much for helping CLIC Sargent be there for families when they need the support most.”
