The Rotary Young Photographer of the Year competition will be held on Monday 27th November at Rook Lane Chapel.
For the first time the competition is open for children in age groups from seven-10 years and 11-13 years as well as 14-17 years. This year’s theme is ‘A Different Perspective’ and has attracted over 40 entries of children from the schools in Frome.
Their photographs will be displayed in Rook Lane Chapel and doors will be open for entrants and the public at 5.30pm, with the result being announced at 6.30pm.
Entries from all age groups will remain on display for free viewing until 8pm and between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th November.
The winner of each group will receive a trophy and will be put forward to the Rotary district competition. The winners of that competition will go forward to the high profile national competition.
Norman Elmer, for the Rotary Club Frome said, “Our schools and individuals have put a lot of work into this, and previous years have shown what imaginative, talented artists our community is fostering. Please come along and show them your support – you’ll be amazed.”
