SPRING is just around the corner; the clocks have changed and the weather is getting warmer. It’s a great time to get involved in outdoor activities, say the Frome Running Club.
The club’s junior section is offering training to young people aged eight to 18 years old. “The sessions focus on running events, with the goal of improving overall fitness through activities that involve strength, coordination, speed and endurance.,” said EA certified events coach Peter Clardy, who has over 20 years of youth coaching experience in the United States and is also an age-group competitive runner on the roads and trails around Somerset.
“Runners will be exposed to sprinting, hurdling, middle distance and cross country running. The training is open to young athletes of all abilities including those new to running and runners with more experience.
“Training sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm with breaks following the school calendar.”
