SAINSBURY’S Frome has presented its local Gateway Club and Memory Cafe with a community grant for £100 each.
This will help to restock the Gateway Club games cupboard and the Memory Cafe will use the grant for various things throughout the year.
The Sainsbury’s Community Grant scheme, helping charitable groups in the local community, is funded by sales of ‘Bags for Life’. So for customers at Sainsbury’s Frome buying a ‘Bag for Life’, this means that they are not only doing great things for the environment, but are also making a contribution to their local community.
Sainsbury’s Frome store manager, Ian Cappell said, “Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important that we can do as much as we can to support it. When we heard about the Gateway Club and the Memory Cafe, we were really pleased to be able to help out.”
Last year alone the community grants scheme provided £135,000 worth of donations, nominated by store managers and colleagues from stores nationwide.
