SAINSBURY’S in Frome held a Remembrance Day service in store on Friday 11th November.
Frome Town Crier Mike Bishop read a poem and a two-minute silence was observed.
Alaina Darling from Sainsbury’s said, “I would personally like to thank all those involved for their support and their attendance, including Maggie Daniells, the representatives of the RNA and RAFA, the many volunteers who have supported the Poppy Appeal at Sainsbury’s, Terry Sampson, Jane Norris and Mike Bishop and his wife Angie.
“I was very proud to stand with them all during the two minute silence and to join some of them afterwards for tea/coffee and biscuits, where war stories were shared which really brought home why we take the time to remember and why it’s so important to keep supporting the British Royal Legion.
“We have been supporters of The Royal British Legion for 22 years and in 2015 our customers and colleagues raised over £2 million for the Poppy Appeal.”
