OVER the August Bank Holiday weekend, Sue Gale, long-standing committee member of Frome’s Save the Children group, took full advantage of the unusually glorious weather to hold a Lawn Sale outside her home in Warminster.
Marjorie Morris of Frome Save the Children group explained, “Sue was helped by her sister Janet, who’d travelled from Berkshire specially for the event, they raised the magnificent sum of £ 795.50 for the charity, £200 up on last year’s record result.
“Over the past 5 years, Sue and Janet have raised £2,510 through these Bank Holiday lawn sales. Congratulations, both of you!
“Anyone wishing to support the Frome Save the Children group will find us in the Cheese and Grain on the second Thursday of every month, with Sue manning the stall at the same time as the Country Market, 8.00am to midday. Our next two stalls are on Thursday 14 September and Thursday 12 October, with tasteful bric-a-brac attractively displayed. We shall also be at the Cheese and Grain Charity Fair on Saturday 18th November, when the stall will particularly feature a range of toys in good time for filling those Christmas stockings. Hope to see you there!”
