Vallis First School celebrated British Science Week on Tuesday 10th March.
Ali Plumridge, science coordinator reports, “Children of all ages worked together and enthusiastically solved exciting scientific challenges. Children were challenged to ‘think like a scientist’ and spent the day asking questions, predicting what might happen, making observations, testing their ideas and making observations.
“Challenges involved working as a team to design and build a strong bridge and a boat that would carry a load without sinking! There was great excitement in the playground when the children made huge bubbles using willow wands that they had made. Many children were really surprised to find that magnets can work through water when they investigated the properties of magnets.
“The children’s enthusiasm for science was contagious throughout the day.”
