SEVEN Frome Scouts who have been selected to compete in the World Scout Jamboree are hosting a table top sale at the Frome Independent Market next month to help raise money to get them to the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea.
Mathilda, Gill, Jess, Harry, Grace, Juliet and Sam have all been selected to represent Somerset at the event, which will be held in August 2023. The group underwent a rigorous selection process to become part of a group of 27 Scouts and explorers heading to South Korea.
They each need to raise £4,000 to help fund the trip and the Scouts will be holding a tabletop stall at the Frome Independent Market on the 4th September. They say, “We will be selling quizzes, raffle tickets, as well as some fantastic prizes and homemade cakes. Any money not used for travel will go to Scouts from more disadvantaged countries. Raffle tickets will cost just £1.”
In Summer 2023, more than 40,000 Scouts from all over the world will gather in Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree. The World Scout Jamboree is a World organization of the Scout Movement event, it happens every four years, each time hosted by a different country. The theme this time is called “Draw your Dream!” And it expresses the desire of Scout Movement members to transform the 25th World Scout Jamboree into their own festival and grow dreams through the event.
