Selwood’s year 6 football teams have got off to an excellent start to the season.
The academy says, “In the autumn term, Selwood entered two teams into the English Football League Kids Cup, a county-wide competition which was played in Yeovil. Both teams did tremendously well, with the ‘A’ team winning the whole competition to become champions!
“The ‘A’ team will now represent Yeovil Town FC at the regional finals at Stanley Park. If they win this round they will get to play at Wembley! Good luck boys!
“For winning the tournament, the boys were treated to free tickets to watch Yeovil play Carlisle FC and ran a lap of honour on the pitch at half-time. They also got to meet the ‘Jolly Green Giant’, Yeovil FC’s mascot.
