A great day was had by all at Selwood Road in a street party, held on Sunday afternoon of 22nd September, concluding early evening.
This was instigated by Trinity Community Group wishing to encourage a community spirit, efficiently managed by local resident and active member, Adam Baylis.
Despite an occasional downpour, this did not dampen the spirits of all the neighbours, their children and friends who attended. Local resident, Anni Tuffnell said, “It was great to see how different our road felt once the cars were gone. Children were out playing almost immediately and I met several of my neighbours whom I’d never spoken to before!”
The group says, “A big thank you to Frome Town Council, Kate Hellard, community development manager, our Mayor, Mark Dorrington for their support and provision of equipment and a small starter fund to get the party going which included gazebos, tables and outdoor games. Many thanks also to Lewis at CH Contracting who provided the road signs and barriers. We are now planning next year’s event!”
