SHAKESPEARE’S sparkling farce, Comedy of Errors, is coming to the Merlin next month brought to you by Shakespeare Live.
It’s a roller coaster of wit, romance, physical comedy and mistaken identities, as two sets of twins cause mayhem in ancient Ephesus when their lives and loves become almost inextricably tangled.
Shakespeare Live, a charity run entirely by volunteers, has a great reputation, gained over more than 30 years, for creative and entertaining productions. Their autumn tour is always a chance to experiment with the plays, and this year’s Comedy of Errors is no exception, with gender swaps and a pared-down cast list adding to the fun in around 90 minutes of lively action.
Tickets are £14 from www.shakespearelive.com/07780 838107, programmes £2 when booking or on the door, at The Merlin in Frome 15th October at 8pm.
