SHARE Frome Library of Things is holding an open evening on Monday 24th April (16:30-20:15) where its inviting local business owners to come and ‘get to know’ Share.
The evening gives visitors a glimpse into how this unique charitable business works during a tour of their library of things. Current staff, volunteers and supporters will talk about how the enterprise was started, describe how Share works with the wider community, share plans for 2023 and detail how business owners can support Share moving forward.
Share’s operations and marketing manager Jess Gardiner explains why she feels it’s so important for local businesses to get to know Share. “Having worked in the commercial sector for 25 years, I’m fully aware of how disconnected businesses can be from the community around them. By getting to know Share, business owners will not only enjoy learning about our unique business model but could also benefit from our relationship with local people, groups and organisations and the simple way that supporting us will allow them to do something positive for community and the environment.
“In 2022 numbers of active members of Share doubled and turnover grew by 37% showing that in some cases, borrowing and not buying really does work. Share’s charitable goals are to provide services and education for the people of Frome to enable them to live more self-sufficient and sustainable lives. In its time so far it has proven to be a well-loved and well used service which will only become more vital as the world moves forward into a new ‘greener’ age of living.”
There are only 30 places available for the open evening and you can choose from arriving at 16:30 or 17:30 on the day.
