MILK Street Brewery has recently won a SIBA award at the South West beer festival and competition, for their Zig Zag stout.
This is their second award for this dark chocolaty stout in the last year. The brewery team are delighted that their beer once again has been recognised for its consistently high quality and unique flavours.
Cathy Lyall, sales and marketing director said, “We would also like to introduce a number of new staff to the team.
“We are delighted to welcome back Sam Kyle who has joined us as the new Griffin pub manger as maternity cover for Nook. Sam said, “I am thoroughly enjoying being back behind the bar at the Griffin and looking forward to running the pub over the next year and to the birth of Nook’s baby.”
Cathy continued, “We have also expanded our brewery team. Emily Culverhouse joined us recently in our sales and marketing team. Milk Street brewery has also been really keen to support our local young people in the apprenticeship scheme. In the last six months we have employed two new apprentices. We have Heidi Phillimore as a sales and marketing administrator studying for an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and also Kial Swift as a brewery assistant, also studying for an NVQ.
“The apprenticeship scheme has really worked for us as a small business, we are able to train young people on the job and it enables us to expand as a business too.”
