As an antidote to ‘black Friday’ where consumers go crazy for discounted items, Frome’s SHARE shop is offering a free borrow of any of their items on Friday 29th November.
SHARE’s manager, Sam Attard said, “There is increasing awareness about the impact of the stuff we buy. Borrowing and/or trying before you buy is a great way to reduce costs and impact. Do pop in on ‘Green Friday’ and see what we have to offer.”
SHARE recently received Lottery funding to increase the amount of quality items people can borrow. New items include a PA – speakers and mic, projector, inflatable kayaks, candyfloss maker, smoke machine and disco lights, as well as tools, cooking items, gardening equipment and carpet cleaners.
Anna Francis Frome Town Council’s resilience manager added, “As well as borrowing a free item at SHARE on the 29th, we are also holding a free swap event on 23rd November from 10am – 12 at Frome Town Hall. This is for anyone to bring an item they no longer need and to swap it for something they do. It’s the perfect way to pick up something for Christmas – for yourself or your family and what’s more, it’s free and reduces waste and carbon.”
