FROME’S share shop SHARE: A Library of Things is launching a ‘Share the Love’ gift voucher for Christmas.
Gift vouchers can be used to pay to borrow from the shop’s inventory of over 600 interesting, useful and unusual items, from as little as £1 per week.
Co-founder Anna Francis said, “So many of us already have a lot of things we don’t use regularly and Christmas just adds to this.
“The ‘share the love’ card is the perfect gift for family and friends as they can enjoy lots of useful and interesting things without having to store them and without the impact of their production and disposal. The amount of waste we produce is quite staggering, particularly around Christmas. For example, the UK throws away almost a million tonnes of electronic waste (such as computers and phones) each year which includes 40 tonnes of gold, silver and platinum!
“As well as useful items like electric drills, leaf blowers, carpet cleaners and sanders, the shop also has more quirky items such as unicycles, a chocolate fountain, ice cream makers, boxing kits, body board, a Wii and a range of children’s toys.”
SHARE shop manager Charley Murrell added, “Christmas is the perfect time to start sharing and as we’re feeling extra generous, a £5 voucher will entitle the bearer to £10 of borrowing. So it’s even better value!”
To buy a card or see what the shop has to offer, pop in to 3a The Bridge between 12pm and 6pm on Wednesday to Friday, or between 10am and 4pm on Saturday. You can also find out more online at www.sharefrome.org
