Residents are invited to view the latest draft Climate Adaptation Plan which outlines ways for Frome to address the climate emergency.
The plan was developed at a recent workshop called Act to Adapt, run by Frome Town Council and Somerset Wildlife Trust and funded by Somerset Rivers Authority. At the Cheese and Grain, over 120 people attended the workshop and discussed the impacts of climate change and how to build community resilience.
“The climate emergency poses many threats to Frome,” said Natalie Barnett of Somerset Wildlife Trust. “Winters are becoming warmer and wetter, increasing flooding risks. Hotter and drier summers are increasing the risk of droughts, heatwaves and wildfires.
“Following our successful community workshop where local residents shared their insights about climate risks and solutions, we’ve developed a draft plan and now we need your feedback. This is your chance to review the proposals, suggest additional actions, and help ensure the plan truly reflects what Frome needs.
“We invite all residents to browse the short and long versions of the plan below and take our short survey on priorities and perspectives for the Frome Climate Adaptation Plan. Your input will help tailor the strategy to local needs and concerns.”
There will be another chance to contribute in person on Saturday 19th July at the Frome Carnival fun day in Victoria Park between 12pm and 4pm.
