MATTHEW Paul Interiors invite you to browse their selection of interior accessories looking to cater for everyone’s tastes and budgets.
Matthew Paul Interiors opened at 1 Bath Street in July last year aiming to ‘help people breathe new life’ into their homes.
“I see it as the perfect place to come and find everything you need to give any room in your home, that has lost its way, an easy make over, whether that be new paint on the walls, picking up some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to revamp a tired piece of furniture and adding some new door knobs, or just choosing a few new accessories such as cushions, rugs or throws can completely change the look and feel of a room for very little expense,” said owner Matt Gillman.
“Many people have commented that my stock is very reasonably priced, and are surprised, thinking it would be an expensive shop from the way it looks.
“The shop before, under the previous owner, was an interiors shop as well, but it focused more on large pieces of furniture, carpets and fabrics, but my focus is more on the accessories and finishing touches for the home.
“Matthew Paul Interiors are Frome’s exclusive stockists of all things ‘Annie Sloan’ including chalk paint, wall paint, waxes and paint brushes, as well as Annie’s stunning fabric collection.
“We also sell a variety of vases, jugs, plant pots, rugs, throws, cushions, and clocks. We are also the only stockist in Frome of Stoneglow candles and diffusers and we also stock the beautiful range of toiletries from Bramley which are a local company based in Mells.
“We have a downstairs to the shop, which many people are not aware of, where you will find more of our products including painted furniture, picture frames and mugs.
“All of my items are handpicked by myself from a range of suppliers. I have taken a lot of care to choose items to suit everyone’s design, tastes and budgets.”
Starting over the coming months, Matthew Paul Interiors will be running workshops teaching people all the techniques needed to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
Two different courses will be available in-store including an essential techniques course, a half-day course which teaches you how to use the paint, paint layering, rubbing back and the simple effects it can create; or an advanced techniques course, lasting the full day, this will combine the essential techniques and advanced techniques with the addition of decoupage and crackle glaze. Lunch will be provided on the full day course and we always end both workshops with a glass of Prosecco!
Matt continued, “These workshops are a great way for people to meet others who share the same interests. It’s a small group of four or five spaces, but you leave with both knowledge and new friends.
“In the future, I would like to get other creative experts in to host other workshops including cushion cover making and lamp shade making, turning the space into a creative hub.”
