WITH only a few weeks until the annual Frome Window Wanderland, being held this year from Friday 26th February to Monday 1st March, 5.30-9pm each evening, organisers are urging local residents to sign up to take part.
The organisers report, “Frome Window Wanderland is a Covid-safe festival of light and colour where people transform their neighbourhoods into a magical outdoor gallery of unique displays in their windows. This is the fourth year that Frome has held their own Window Wanderland, although there are lots of Window Wanderlands that happen throughout the year all over the country and the world!
Fancy Taking Part?
“Taking part as a windowmaker is free and everyone’s welcome. You can make a display in the windows of your flat, house, business, school, nursery, car, campervan or shop.
“Please don’t feel intimidated. Your display could be as simple as a candle, book or fairy lights in a window. Or you could go all out and stage a performance in your front room! Anything goes, as long as it’s family friendly and Covid-safe.
What Next?
“Go to www.windowwanderland.com/event/frome-2021 and click on ‘Take part in this event’ to register. You’ll get a welcome pack when you sign up and access to lots of inspiration for windows too. Tell your friends and neighbours and ask them to get involved!
“PostScript on Stony Street is offering a 10% discount off all materials for your windows when you mention Frome Window Wanderland.
“As it is highly likely that we will still be in Lockdown or certainly have quite a lot of restrictions in place, we are making sure people know that Frome Window Wanderland 2021 will be Covid-safe and that we all need to strictly adhere to the rules: only wander as part of your daily exercise, stay local, only wander in your household groups and if there is another household already looking at a window, please stay back and wait until they have moved on, as they are only likely to be there for a few minutes, and that way we can all stay safe and enjoy our wanderings!”
