Singing Social runs music workshops in care homes, for toddlers.
Currently catering to three Frome care homes, they bring these generations together to promote inclusivity and community cohesion. The service is run by local music educators, Willow Harwood and Rosanna Schura. Initially they started as volunteers but were soon overwhelmed by the demand for the service and created a community interest company so that they could apply for financial support to expand the service.
The local interest in this group continues to grow as Singing Social provides both high quality music workshops and an opportunity for families to give back to their community.
Singing Social was raising funds on Saturday 14th September to sustain and expand their service. To do this they created an art exhibition focus with over 40 local children creating pieces of artwork on the theme of friendship. The exhibition was judged by local illustrator, Sally Harflett, and included prizes from Wookey Hole, Frome Roller Disco, Memorial Theatre and East Somerset Railway. Center Parcs also donated a day family day out.
