INDEPENDENT publishers, editors, book illustrators and other specialists who provide services for up-and-coming authors are already lining up to take stands at the annual Frome Festival Small Publishers’ Fair.
The Fair, organised by Frome Writers’ Collective has, over the seven years since its inception, provided budding writers not only with guidance and advice but also with the encouragement they often need to key in the magic words, ‘The End’, to their manuscript.
Spokesperson for Frome Writers’ Collective, Gill Harry, said, “The Fair has become a ‘must’ in many writers’ diaries with queues of visitors at exhibitors’ stands discussing the way ahead for their work, while readers enjoy browsing the variety of books on offer.
“Frome Writers Collective’s own manuscript advice service, Silver Crow Books, will also have a stand at the fair and there will also be a wide range of books to browse and to buy.
“This is not just an opportunity for the many local writers in our area to explore the options open to them, it’s also there for them to meet and talk to those businesses whose support they may well need on the long road to publication.
“The Fair has been a sell-out in the last few years and we have only a few tables left, so I would urge anyone keen to sell books or promote their services to contact us as soon as they can.”
Frome Writer’s Collective’s Small Publishers’ Fair is being held at the town’s Silk Mill Studios on Saturday 8th July, the opening day of this year’s Frome Festival. For more information visit fromesmallpublishersfair.co.uk/ and fromefestival.co.uk/
