CHESTER House Social Club’s first Saturday night snooker event of the new season was another success, although a few regular players were missing.
Derek White says, “The format for the evening was slightly changed, with the players being split into two groups, with the top two from each group going through to the final.
“Nev Ward was winner on the night, beating Paddy Buckland in another close final. The other two semi-finalists were Justin Miller and David Henson.
“It was another enjoyable evening, which included a tasty shepherd’s pie supper provided by Annie Scane. The next snooker event is the Winter Singles Knock Out and details will appear on the notice board and web page www.chester housesc.leaguerepublic.co. uk shortly.
“These events are open to all club members who enjoy playing snooker to whatever standard, as a handicap system ensures all players have a chance of winning frames.
“Chester House Social Club in Christchurch Street West, Frome, welcomes snooker players of all abilities to join and make use of the 4 full-sized snooker tables.
“The club is open week day evenings, Saturday afternoon/ evening and Sunday lunchtimes.”
