FROME Society for Local Study has paid tribute to its benefactor.
Chair of Frome Society, Sara Morris, said, “Pat Eames and Paul Truscott, the longest serving members of the Frome Society for Local Study committee, carried out the regular mid-summer ceremony of placing one red rose on the Dissenters Churchyard grave of Katharine Ashwort, the Society’s benefactor.
“In the 1970s Katharine left her house to the Society and the only recompense she requested was one rose on her grave at mid-summer.”
