FROME 2nd Xl strengthened their grip on a top three spot in Division 3 of the Somerset League, following their comprehensive 187 run win over a Watchet side who travelled to Fromefield with eight players.
A century for Ryan Gullock and 73 from Tim Leonard provided the backbone of the Frome innings, who amassed 256 for 6 from their 45 overs against the plucky visitors who had two impressive left arm opening bowlers, but faded away in the second half of the innings.
Watchet in reply lost a wicket in the first over when Lovell was bowled by the pace of Matt Knight, who hit the stumps five times in his seven overs.
With Clive Hamblin picking up the final two wickets, again both bowled, Watchet were all out for 69 runs to give Frome maximum points.
This Saturday, Frome visit Broadway & Horton who are the only side who can deny them of that third spot and probable promotion for the 2018 season.
