SOMERSET Ear Wax Clinic is delighted to announce that its ear wax removal service is now registered by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The CQC is England’s independent regulator of health and adult social care. It monitors, inspects and regulates health care services; it is now an offence to operate without CQC registration.
To grant registration the CQC has to be satisfied about a how a business operates and how it complies with relevant regulations such as health and safety legislation and data protection laws.
Teresa Munro, from the Somerset Ear Wax Clinic, said, “It’s quite a rigorous process to go through. The CQC wanted to see copies of my policies and procedures, risk assessments, safeguarding, emergency procedures and evidence of my qualifications and training.
“As part of the process the CQC needed to be satisfied that I practice in a safe environment. My clinic runs from a private room in Frome Medical Centre which means I was able to satisfy the CQC inspector that all steps were taken to ensure high levels of infection control and access to equipment in emergencies.
“Too much ear wax can be painful and distressing condition and often prevents people from using hearing aids effectively. Ear wax irrigation is a pain free, safe and effective way to remove ear wax.
“CQC registration means that my clients can have the upmost confidence in the care they will receive from Somerset Ear Wax clinic and I look forward to welcoming back existing clients as well as taking on new clients.”
