CHRIST Church, on Christchurch Street West, will be hosting two special musical events this month.
On Sunday 4th November, the church will host Choral Evensong for Remembrance at 6pm.
The free church service will have music “For the fallen” by Douglas Guest; Psalm 130 and Requiem Aeternam by Walford Davies; “This is my commandment” by James Whitbourn with trumpet playing The Last Post; Magnificat & Nunc dimittis by W. Denis Browne (killed in action 1915); and prayers for All Souls.
Later in the month, on Saturday 24th November, Christ Church will host a ‘Celebration of Home’.
Expect cheerful words and music, with extracts from ‘Diary of a Nobody’; ‘The House at Pooh Corner’; poems and songs, along with interval refreshments and a stall. Donations will be for St Mungo’s charity, helping the homeless. The concert is free and starts at 3pm.
