RESIDENTS, businesses and schools in the town are all mounting a huge effort to support this year’s Sport Relief charity drive.
Sport Relief, which will take place between Friday 21st and Sunday 23rd March, runs every two years, alternating with Comic Relief. Launched in 2002, it has raised over £150million to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world’s poorest countries. At the heart of the campaign is the Sport Relief Mile.
To help support Sport Relief, the people of Frome are putting on a whole host of fundraising events.
The Frome Sport Relief run is taking place on Sunday 23rd March hosted by Frome Running Club and taking place around the AlderSmith Stadium, home of Frome Town Football Club. There will be one, three and six mile routes available, with space on the event at a premium.
The event starts at 10.30am with the run starting at 11.00am no matter what distance you decide to do. Entry costs £6 per adult, £3 per child or £15 per family which covers the cost of two adults and two children.
