Stars achieved promotion for the second year running and will play their netball in the Premier league of the Moonraker league next season.
Having beaten Devizes relatively easily in the first fixture Stars were a little slow to start and were surprised at times by the pressure that Devizes put on them. Hannah Dredge was on fine shooting form though and, with great feeding into the circle from Sophie Cox and Kate Smith, Stars built a quarter time lead of 9 goals to 5.
Watching coach Jane Boyland encouraged Stars to continue in their usual style and to be positive in their play which resulted in them taking a half time lead of 19 goals to 10.
Janie Bullus found some shooting form in the third quarter and with the defensive pairing of Lucy Perry and Kathy Dredge making countless interceptions turning defence into offence this resulted in Devizes scoring no goals while Frome scored 10.
Hannah continued with her rich vein of form and deservedly won her first Player of the Match award.
Everyone gave full commitment to the last quarter and Jo Knight was still full of running. She picked up the Player’s player award but the whole team must be congratulated for another fine season.
Thanks to Sheri for reserving and all the support from all the club members.
