Bath’s Sulis Hospital has launched a new satellite outpatient clinic at Frome Medical Practice, with the first clinic taking place on 23rd June.
The hospital says this development will bring expert-led consultations across a range of specialties directly to residents of Frome and the surrounding area, offering greater choice, faster access and reduced travel time for patients.
The Frome Satellite Clinic will offer consultations across several key specialties for adults, including orthopaedics (hip, knee and spine clinics), general surgery (including colorectal, hernia, gallstones and ‘lumps and bumps’ clinics) and ophthalmology.
Assessments and X-rays will be carried out on-site, with any necessary pre-operative tests and surgery then taking place at Sulis Hospital, located in Peasedown St John, Bath.
The clinic is open to both private and NHS patients. NHS patients can choose Sulis Hospital for treatment via the e-Referral Service (ERS), provided the clinic is appropriate for their condition and needs. The My Planned Care NHS website provides additional information.
Private patients, whether self-paying or using private medical insurance, can book an initial consultation at Frome Medical Practice.

It will support earlier diagnosis, streamlined patient journeys and high-quality follow-up care – all within a familiar, local setting.”
