HAVING recently returned back to their home pool at Fusion Leisure Centre, Frome Swimming Club is striving to rebuild swimmer numbers and grow the club membership.
Local Mc Colls store manager, Bronwen Jenkins has helped this by nominating the club to receive funds from local charity, Making a Difference Locally, as part of Mc Colls support of local clubs, charity organisations and community causes.
The committee also submitted a supporting application stating how they would put any funds to good use. The club was successful and couldn’t be happier with the financial gift.
Redeveloping and expanding the current swimmer membership is key to the ongoing success of the club. The recent financial assistance from Making a Difference Locally will enable the club to fund new equipment and help with coaching cover costs to support all swimmers of all abilities.
Bronwen attended one of the squads summer training sessions at the pool, where she was welcomed by some of the squad and development swimmers who thanked her for the donation of £250. She said, ”It’s great to be involved and be able to help a local club, I am happy that the nomination for the club was successful.”
Coach Sharon Smith joined the swimmers in thanking Bronwen then it was back to business as usual with the training sets ready to be put into action.
