Frome Swimming Club held their annual presentation evening at Frome Rugby Club recently.
The club reports, “It was a time for swimmers, coaches and parents to get together and celebrate the achievements of the year.
“Swimmers received cups and medals for their performances at the recent club championships and there were also special trophies awarded to members who have excelled and shown special qualities throughout the year.
“The Chris Reynolds Cup (Coaches Cup) is given to a member who shows endeavour, courage, progress and who the coaches decide is most deserving. This year it was won by Darcey Evans. The Boys and Girls Progress Cups were won by Edwin Warman and Grace Bahadoor and Style Cups, Alistair Everton and Tiah Marsh. The Harold Atkinson Water Polo Cup was awarded to Felix Raithby. The Daniel Crutwell /FDC Law Volunteer Trophy for contribution to the club was won by Liz Metcalfe and the Young Volunteer Trophy went to Katie Duffy. The Patrick Kaye Memorial Cup for effort in challenge was presented to Hannah Dors. Club President, Cherie Crozier, awarded the Presidents Cup to Dillon Endicott and she also passed on the President’s Chain to Fraser Thomson, who will be the club’s President for 2020.
“There was also two new cups for the boys’ and girls’ 1500m. These cups were named after Cedric Williams who was closely involved with the club for many years. His daughters, Sue Akers and Gay Shaul, were able to come to the awards and present them to the winners.
“The club captains were also announced for the coming year. Will Carpenter was named Boys’ Captain for another year and Bethan Davis was named the new Girls’ Captain.
“It was a great night and showed what dedicated and talented swimmers we have in Frome.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents and volunteers who support the club. We really wouldn’t be able to do it without them. And also a big thank you to all our sponsors who have supported us immensely this year.
