A collective of talented artists with learning disabilities expressed their sensory responses to an evolving climate in an exhibition entitled Hullabaloo, which was recently held in the Round Tower, Black Swan Arts.
In collaboration with Green and Healthy Frome, OpenStoryTellers brought together four local creative facilitators to work alongside the artists, guiding them in expressing their thoughts and experiences through various creative mediums.
The exhibition was attended by nearly 500 visitors, including the mayor of Frome, Cllr Andy Jones, who said, “I was fascinated to look around this collaborative exhibition exploring the different themes and learning about the impact of climate change and how it affects some of the most vulnerable members of the community.”
Another visitor to the exhibition said, “It was a beautifully presented exhibition. The artists have created some fantastic work. The project has obviously made them aware of our natural world and how important it is to protect it. The film made me aware of the issues they have to cope with when travelling to and from their work; the artist designs on the films are so impressive, I knew immediately who each artist was. Great artwork! “
