METEORITE and a bird’s nest will be among the collected items on show at Frome Museum this month, as a local ten year-old shows his collection throughout the rest of July.
Edward Bucklow, aged 10, is the latest person to show his treasures at Frome Museum.
Ed’s objects will be shown until the end of July in the Cabinet of Curiosity and they include many natural objects that he has collected himself, some from distant places like Italy and Corfu as well as here in Frome.
Museum volunteer Jennie O’Kane said, “Ed’s display of treasures is fascinating as can been seen by the beautifully constructed bird nest he found abandoned in his garden. There is also his purchased iron meteorite, originally part of the famous Campo del Cielo meteorite that was discovered in 1576 from Argentina. Why not pop in to Frome Museum to have a look, and don’t forget it changes every month!”
Frome Museum offers members of the public who collect natural history objects, including bones, fossils, minerals and archaeology the opportunity to display their treasures for one month in the museum.
The museum will provide an attractive and secure space and help with labels. For more information contact the museum in person or by phone on 01373 454611.
Other exhibitions currently in the museum include the ‘Last Tree Dreaming’ with photographs by Julian Hight.
