Frome Musical Theatre Company’s award-winning youth group Spellbound are pleased to present Lionel Bart’s musical ‘BLITZ!’. Director: Dora Bishop, Choreographer: Eloise Kilkelly-Doyle, Musical Director: David Hynds. This year our country remembers the outbreak of World War II 80 years ago and commemorates the 75-year anniversary of the liberation brought by the D-Day Landings. Let our young cast take you on a trip back to the home front of wartime London and into the lives of the families on Petticoat Lane.
The story centres on the relationship between a Jewish family, the Blitzteins, and a cockney family, the Lockes, in 1940s East End London. Mrs. Blitztein and Alfie Locke work at adjacent market stalls and can’t stand each other. Against the backdrop of Hitler’s bombing intensifying, their teenage children, Carol and Georgie, fall in love. Will Mrs. Blitztein and Alfie be able to bury the hatchet and become friends?

We’re having a Children’s Summer Party at The Assembly Rooms. Dance to your favourite Summer Hits, provided by PDJ Disco and play lots of party games. A light buffet is available, bar will be open any every child gets an ice cream! Entry is just £6 per child (adults are free). Ticket includes disco, ice cream and a present to take home. Saturday 31st August 4pm- We Love Little Mix – The Ultimate Little Mix Experience. We Love Little Mix are four hugely talented girls paying tribute to one of the UK’s finest Girl-Bands. With breathtaking dance moves, replica costumes and some of the finest vocals in the UK, this is a high-energy show packed with all of Little Mix’s greatest hits – DNA, Wings, Salute, Black Magic, Love Me Like You, Secret Love Song and many, many more. Saturday 7th September 7.30pm- The Rock of Ages Experience. The Rock of Ages Experience are looking forward to appearing at The Memorial Theatre on Saturday September 7th with their uplifting and high energy musical tribute to the smash hit Hollywood Film and Musical, ‘Rock of Ages’. The idea for this show came about because they had seen the film and loved it, then saw the stage show which they also enjoyed, but of course in the stage show they only play a small section of the songs, and they wanted to hear more of the music. From this they decided to add in even more iconic hits from the era, so not only do you get songs from the show, but great hits like ‘Living on a Prayer’ ‘Sweet Child of Mine’ ‘Dead Ringer for Love’ ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’ ‘Eye of the Tiger’ ‘Don’t Stop me Now’ ‘I Want it All’ and many more.
The rock classics of the eighties go from strength to strength, as they perform some of the greatest rock songs of the decade.
