The end of an era – Costume hire shop set to close its doors for good later this year

ABSOLUTELY Fabulous Costume Hire is reaching the end of an era and has sadly decided to close its doors for the final time on Friday 30th September.

The shop started its life on Catherine Hill before moving to its current location on Bath Street and has been trading for over 20 years. It’s been one of the favourite independent shops in Frome ever since.  

Owner and manager of AbFab, Philippa Kaye said, “We are holding a continual sale until our last day, so if anyone fancies owning a piece of the shop and its history, then come in and have a look. Lots of bargains to be had.  

“We’re selling everything, so it’s a good opportunity to increase your own dress-up box or grab some great items for this year’s festivals and Halloween. It’s sad to see it all go, but since the pandemic and the rise of the internet, the decision has had to be made. We will, of course, still be hiring as usual until then.  

“We’d like to thank all our customers, past and present, for their custom, their good spirits and all the fun and laughter they’ve bought over the years to our lives. For me it’s been a labour of love and a pleasure to work there and to serve the local community.”
