Emerging from its winter hibernation on Sunday 3rd March is The Frome Independent, the monthly Sunday market that welcomes designers, craftspeople, food producers and vintage experts to the streets of Frome.
Organisers say, “This spring will also see the relaunch of The Frome Independent’s Market Maker membership club, which offers visitors a chance to buy a year’s membership card that gets them access to discounts and offers of all kinds from The Frome Independent’s traders.
“This year, every single one of the market’s traders will be making offers through the scheme, making it a great time for market fans to join or renew and existing membership. What’s more, annual membership to the scheme just got cheaper, and is now only £15 for the whole year, which even comes with a free Reclaim The High Street tote bag. To join, simply pop over to the Rewards page on the Frome Independent’s website or visit their information stall on market day.
“The market itself looks set to be better than ever this spring with lots of old favourites and new faces too. If you’re looking for a Mother’s Day gift, you can pay a visit to the scores of talented designer-makers selling prints, cards, handmade jewellery and ethical clothing.
“For foodies, there’s locally-reared meat and organic veg from Somerset farmers, plus bread, cheese, cider, chocolate from other local producers. For those more inclined to eating than cooking, we’re looking forward to an exciting array of street food this year, with everything from Mexican street food, to Hong Kong-style sweet bubble waffles, made right here in Frome.
“For vintage-lovers the Frome flea can be found in Market Yard and is a treasure trove of vintage clothing, antiques, mid-century furniture and taxidermy. There’s also the Homes & Garden’s section, which is abundant with plants, flowers and gardenalia. All this, plus live music on the Market Place stage, Djing from The Vintage Mobile Disco team, kids activities and local charities.”
The Frome Independent takes place on Sunday 3rd March from 10am – 3pm, across Frome town centre, St Catherine’s and the Market Yard. For Market Maker membership and visitor information, visit www.the fromeindependent.org.uk.
