The Frome Music Industry Network (formerly the West Country Music Network) is set to have its sixth gathering upstairs at the Three Swans in King Street, Frome on Thursday 28th March from 7.30pm.
Local singer/songwriter, Sara Vian, set up the “networking space for musicians and all industries associated with the music business’ due to her “understanding that people need to meet out of cyberspace to form real connection, share skills and resources, collaborate and support each others’ projects and businesses in the old fashioned goodwill spirit of sharing a beer (or your drink of preference)!”
The format of the evening commences with informal networking from 7.30pm, followed by a guest speaker at 8pm, which this month will be Daniel Starr from “Arts2Life”, a non-profit organisation which aims to raise the profile of unsigned artists.
Based in Bristol, Arts2Life work with artists of all styles and genres, offering them promotional opportunities via online marketing and live events. Find out more at: www.arts2life.co.uk/
You can find the Frome Music Industry Network group and event on Facebook or just turn up on the fourth Thursday of the month (until the high festival season).
“The network is a brand new social media network dedicated to honest feedback and grassroots music exposure,” said Sara. “Built by local musicians, for local musicians.
“Not only are musicians a huge part of On The House, but so are our guest reviewers. Writers from various industries search through our artist listings in their own time, exploring the archives and discovering new music. If there is a song which takes their fancy, our writers will post a review on the artist profile – we then promote the reviews through social media and other channels, enabling both the artists and the writers to become recognised.”
