WORLD-renowned music conductor, Stephen Ellery, is bringing the London Gala Orchestra to Frome this month, featuring virtuoso Polish accordionist, Andrzej Grzybowski.
Stephen Ellery has conducted all over the world including Japan, Poland, Australia, Mexico, India, Ghana, China, and major German cities.
At the age of 23, he studied composing and conducting at Krakow in Poland and then specialised in conducting at St Petersburg, Russia.
He is also well known for his saxophone playing and performed on the Berlin Wall on the day the wall came down.
Since 2012, Steve Ellery has conducted for the London Gala Orchestra. Last autumn, he conducted a sold-out concert for over 5,000 people at the Royal Albert Hall in London, commemorating 100 years of Polish independence.
The concert was organised by the Relief Society for Poles Trust, with proceeds going to Polish charitable causes.
This year alone, Stephen Ellery has performed to over 40,000 people in sold-out concerts in Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
Organisers of the Frome Festival say that this highly-anticipated concert is something you won’t want to miss.
The London Gala Orchestra will be performing at St John’s Church, Frome, on the 8th July at 7.30pm, with tickets at £15.
