Residents are invited to take part in free learning sessions being delivered by Edventure’s Future Shed scheme.
The first session, ‘The Power of a Good Story’, will be led by creative campaigning expert James Turner.
James has over two decades’ experience with organisations like Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Patagonia and his own company Glimpse.
He specialises in using humour and entertainment to make big issues like climate change or refugee relief feel more relatable. His session is on Thursday 6th February at Frome Town Hall from 7pm to 9pm, hosted by Edventure and Sustainable Frome.
This session is for anyone interested in communications and storytelling, and James will focus on the power of a good story to create a successful campaign.
“You’ll hear lots of real-world examples and there will be cats,” say the organisers.
The second session is ‘How to Pitch Your Idea in Public’ with Ruth Knagg and Sue Palmer.
This supportive learning session is all about how to share or ‘pitch’ your idea in public on Friday 7th March at Frome Town Hall from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
You will learn how to prepare a pitch or short speech, build confidence and your voice and share things you are passionate about.
