Frome Toy Library has warned that current funding for the service runs out at the end of the summer and is asking for local help to keep the non-profit service going.
The Toy Library supports local families by allowing access to a huge range of high quality toys and games. Organiser Sue Willis said, “We have been working hard to find more grant funding, but there is so much competition that we are now facing a gap in funding. We are calling out to local people and businesses to ask if they can sponsor the Toy Library and help keep the service going.
“If we can find 100 people who are able to give £5 per month in sponsorship, we can run the service for a whole year!
“The Toy Library is an amazing community service which helps local families access support in a safe and nurturing environment. It reduces the need for families to buy lots of toys for their children, so it’s great for the environment and keeps family costs down.
“The service supports families that are new to the country and encourages families to take time to enjoy playing with their children. The Toy Library is very low cost to access, so that no families are excluded. Please join our first sponsor, the former Mayor, Sheila Gore, who is a passionate supporter of the service.”
Becoming a Toy Library sponsor is easy – sign up via Local Giving at https://localgiving.org/ charity/purpleelephant/ project/toylibrary/. Each sponsor will get a Toy Library badge, a certificate with a photo of your chosen toy and free Toy Library membership (if your donation is over £10).
To make local sponsorship go even further, Local Giving will match the first £250 raised.
