WITH just a couple of weeks to go until their annual free Christmas concert, the young singers in Frome Youth Choir are busy rehearsing their new repertoire of festive songs.
The free concert, an annual fixture on the Frome advent calendar, will be held on Sunday 11th December in Christ Church in Frome at 3pm, and is open to all.
The concert will feature seasonal songs from around the world, including ‘Christmas Wish’, ‘Shine Your Light’, ‘The Man with the Bag’ and ‘Hazmat Bibi Maryam’.
And to get the audience fully into the festive spirit, there will be a raffle for a bumper Christmas hamper, mulled wine and mince pies, and singalong carols.
Established in the late 1980s, Frome Youth Choir is for young people from Frome and surrounding areas aged six to14 years old. It is run by musical director, Steph Collishaw, who has been a music teacher in the Frome area for over 20-years.
Steph said, “Our bright lights are looking forward to shining at our annual Christmas concert on Sunday 11th December. For some children, this has been their first opportunity to sing together in a group since before the pandemic, so please come along to support our young songsters when they perform in public for the first time.
