Moonraker Winter League Division One. Corsham 35 Frome Diamonds 21.
HAVING beaten Corsham by only one goal last time around, Frome Diamonds knew they were in for a hard encounter.
The first quarter was evenly matched and Diamonds held their own against a physical Corsham side. A few dropped centre passes and a turnover ball from Corsham meant they were just ahead in the first quarter by eight goals to five.
In the second quarter though, Corsham forged ahead with good shooting and strong defending. Again a few silly errors flattered the score of Corsham as Diamonds gave away silly penalties which Corsham capitalised on.
They led by eight at half time and then by the end of the third quarter they had increased that to 14. Diamonds never gave up and all players were frustrated when things went awry. Kirsty Townsend picked up the Player of the Match Award whilst the Players’ Player award went to Jemma Pickford.
Diamonds retain third place in the Moonraker league.
